About Blackpool Zoo Education Department:

Our Education department is a vibrant, dynamic, and energetic space dedicated to providing positive visitor experiences paired with lasting educational interactions and memorable conservation messages. Our dedicated Education team works creatively and collaboratively to host multi-dimensional programs for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Administration and Education Officer to play a key role in the education department. This is a fast-paced and varied role requiring strong administrative, communication and organisational skills. You will be responsible for coordinating bookings for schools, groups and educational experiences ensuring a smooth and efficient process providing excellent customer service. As a key team member, you may also contribute to Wildlife Learning Programmes and interactions.

Due to the nature of the role and the peak in workload during term time, this is a permanent, part-time, term-time only position. You will work an average of 32 hours per week over 39 weeks of the year, with no work required during the school holidays unless it is requested specifically. The annual salary for this role is £14,548, which is based on the 32 hours per week worked during term time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate bookings for schools, groups and educational programmes
  • Ensure efficient administration of the Education department, including scheduling, budgeting and invoicing
  • Liaise with schools, colleges and visitors, providing excellent customer service and responding to queries
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of educational activities, conservation events, and animal interactions
  • Maintain records and reports, supporting evaluation and improvements within the department
  • Support health and safety compliance, ensuring educational spaces are maintained to a high standard
  • Work closely with colleagues contributing to the overall visitor experience
