At Blackpool Zoo, we pride ourselves on being a Zoo for all by creating an engaging day out for children, taking them on an educational journey that allows them to discover different animals and the natural world, bringing learning to life.
Enhance your visit with an educational workshop, giving your students a unique and immersive zoo experience. Our workshops bridge classroom learning with our exclusive resources, enriching the understanding of curriculum science topics for your students. You can learn more about our workshops here.
Our Education Academy features three themed classrooms, each accommodating up to 30 students and each fully wheelchair accessible. For larger groups or multiple classes attending simultaneously, we offer spacious areas within the zoo that can host up to 200 attendees. This option is particularly popular among high schools and colleges.

Our educational programmes are customised to suit any age or ability, and there is no limit on the number of students who can participate.
We are a Zoo for all, with programmes tailor-made to suit any age, ability, or characteristic.
We welcome school eco-councils and offer sustainability workshops and eco-champion advice panels and we offer hands on learning programmes available for smaller groups.
NEW FOR 2024 - Animal Sign Language Safari Tour!
Primary school children visiting Blackpool Zoo are invited to embark on an exciting Animal Sign Language Safari Tour!
This 30 minute engaging and educational experience introduces children to British Sign Language (BSL) through the fascinating world of animals. Guided by our expert educators, students will learn how to sign the names and characteristics of their favorite zoo animals while exploring the park. The tour is designed to be interactive, fun, and inclusive, fostering both communication skills and a deeper connection to wildlife. Contact us to learn more about this unique learning adventure!
Pre-booked schools are also able to benefit from:
- Pre-visit tickets for two teachers with staff ID
- Free parking for coaches
- Free admission for coach drivers
Important Information!
- All prices are subject to change without prior notice.
- Prices are based on visits Monday to Friday, in term time (except Nursery, summer school and uniformed groups). Visits during weekends and holidays are classed as group visits.
- Child prices are for children ages 3-15 years. 2 years and under are free admission.
- Blackpool Zoo members are charged admission as part of a school or group visit.
- Groups listed below can not participate in the March Madness promotion.
- To qualify for these discounted rates, you must book with us at least 48 hours before your visit.
- All groups listed below must consist of 15 or more paying visitors.

Our social story is a narrative to illustrate a school visit. The story shows the different situations, from arrival at the zoo to the animals and sensory experiences a student may encounter during the visit. We hope this helps some children understand and be prepared for their day trip to Blackpool Zoo.
