Keeper Cubs
Does your child love animals? Then Keeper Cubs is for them!
Keeper Cubs is the first level in the Blackpool Zoo Keeper School journey for young animal lovers, created for children aged 5-7 years old. Keeper Cubs is a one-day programme designed to give younger children an opportunity to get hands-on looking after some of our zoo animals, alongside other activities with our Zoo Rangers.
Keeper Cubs in a one-day courses which runs from 10am to 1pm and includes a t-shirt, one free adult admission for the day of the course, a car park pass and discount in the shop and café. After the course, the children can go back into the zoo to explore with their adult.
Dates & Price
Dates: 20th July or 27th July 2025.
Time: 10am - 1.00pm
Price: £105 per child (includes branded t-shirt).
Maximum of 8 children per date. Places are limited and spaces will fill up fast.
What to expect
- 10am - Meet at the Visitor Services Hub for registration.
- Get to know our Zoo Rangers
- Get messy making toys for our animals
- Start your outdoor adventure exploring our wildlife garden and the animals that live there
- Enjoy a well-deserved break with some animal themed games
- Spend time helping the Zoo Rangers give the animals their lunch
- Finish your day with a certificate to make you an official Blackpool Zoo Keeper Cub!
- Includes zoo branded T-shirt
Important Information
- Our Keeper Courses are non-refundable, please so please carefully check eligibility and all other terms before you purchase
- Only held on select days, please click on the button below to select a course date.
- Participants must be within the correct school year and age range.
- Includes entry to the zoo for the whole day for the child plus free entry to one adult.
- Guardians are not able to accompany children on the day.
- Children will be supervised by our education team at all times.
- The programme runs in all weather conditions. We recommend wet weather attire on wet days. Blackpool Zoo reserves the right to cancel the encounter in extreme weather conditions.
- Fitness requirements: Participants will be exploring the zoo for the day. For any additional requirements, please enquire with animal.interactions@blackpoolzoo.org.uk prior to booking.
- Clothing requirements: Enclosed flat shoes and sensible clothing suitable for the weather.
- Participants will be required to agree to the programme rules, and a parent or guardian must complete and return a health and safety form prior to the course. The forms can be found linked to the confirmation emails.
