Earth-friendly Shopping
Our cafés only sell food that is palm oil free or contains certified sustainable palm oil. We support the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the primary body for sustainable palm oil standards. We endorse their efforts to ensure sustainable palm oil is the norm and communicate this issue to our staff and visitors.
Our education and marketing teams work hard to promote the palm oil-free shopping list and the Good Fish guide. In 2022 we asked all school and group visitors to pledge for our Tree of Hope, where they received a certificate for pledging to reduce their plastic use and avoid unsustainable palm oil.
We have a selection of plant-based food and drink options within our food menus and those of our partners, such as Starbucks and Subway.
Within retail, all our current plush ranges have stuffing inside that is made from recycled plastic bottles. Some of our plush ranges are made from 100% recycled materials. Other examples of sustainable practice within retail include 100% biodegradable ponchos, bamboo dinner sets, reusable cotton bags, 100% recycled paper bags, logo pencils made from recycled newspapers, logo pens made from recycled plastic bottles, and eco pads made from recycled paper. We are constantly sourcing alternatives to single-use plastics and every year take more significant strides in this area.
