Native Species Partnership

We are proud to introduce an exciting new partnership for 2024!

In collaboration with Blackpool Council and the volunteers of Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve, we will soon be launching our biggest native species project yet.

Harry, Kristian and Sam from our Education and Animal teams dug out their wellies and headed to Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve for their Christmas Guided Walk. The event was an excellent opportunity to be introduced to the Mere’s volunteers and spend the morning at the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), learning about its history, ecology and the work that goes into managing the site for the benefit of native wildlife.

We are excited to work closer with the Marton Mere volunteer team and Blackpool Council in the future, protecting species native to this local habitat.
