With our #OrangSelfie competition well underway, we thought we’d see how well Summer and Cherie could handle the camera. For a first attempt, they didn’t do too badly and they seemed to learn a thing or two along the way.
First things first, you’ll need to check that your camera is working. It usually helps if you hold it up the right way.
Don’t get too close to the camera.
Make sure you angle it right. Looking right up your nose isn’t always the most flattering.
Although not strictly a selfie, it’s still okay to take photos of your friends.
Gazing into the distance can make you look all intellectual like you’re deep in thought. Apparently.
It’s an easy mistake to make, but always remember that selfies are about your face. Not your feet.
Turn that camera around. Horizontal is best.
Don’t forget, the eyes are the window to the soul.
But most importantly of all, a simple smile goes a really long way.
With our #OrangSelfie competition well underway, we thought we’d see how well Summer and Cherie could handle the camera. For a first attempt, they didn’t do too badly and they seemed to learn a thing or two along the way.
As part of our new series of behind the scenes animal antics we thought it’d be interesting to see what happens when you place a GoPro camera in an (apparently) indestructible box and give it to one of the world’s strongest and most intelligent primates.
Within minutes of our young female orangutans getting their hands on it, the indestructible box proved it was anything but indestructible and the GoPro was whisked on a whistle stop tour of Orangutan Outlook!
Keepers eventually persuaded Cherie to swap the expensive camera for a banana and the resulting footage really is something else.
Don't forget, you've got until June 12th to send us your #OrangSelfie to be in with a chance of winning - Full competition details here.
