Work Experience - Student Placement Opportunities

We are now accepting applications for our full-time, voluntary placements for 2025/2026, which run from September to July/August.

We have placements available in the following departments: 

• Animal, Research and Conservation Education (rotational internship): As part of your placement, you will rotate through various animal teams, work alongside our education and conservation team and complete a research project. This role includes a 5-day week with some weekend and bank holidays.
• Research only: You'll support the research team with internal projects and also have the opportunity to conduct your own research with guidance from Blackpool Zoo.
• Education only: Your role will include shadowing our conservation education department for learning and discovery. You will support children from early years to further education as well as join the team in delivering public education across the zoo to every demographic of visitor. This role includes a 5-day week, including some weekend and bank holidays.
• Visual Design: Assist in visual design by creating graphics and educational materials, with opportunities to contribute to digital marketing projects. This role includes a 5-day week, Monday - Friday.

We have placements available in the following departments: 

• Digital Marketing - This opportunity is perfect for students pursuing a marketing or related course, offering hands-on experience with our expert team. You will support the team with tasks such as creating engaging social media content, supporting CRM campaigns, and updating website content. This role includes a 5-day week, including some weekend and bank holidays.
