We are delighted to bring the "Chinese Year of the Tiger" to life for our visitors daily from Sunday, 14th February until Saturday, 20th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
There will be the usual talks and feeds, including an introduction to our new tiger, Zambar, a tiger trail, a "Name that Tiger" competition and a 21st Century Tiger collage workshop. Monies raised will go to supporting tigers in the wild via the charity, 21st Century Tiger.
Also on offer will be a Chinese alternative on the menu in the main cafe, so leave that picnic at home!
For Zoo members only, there will be a "Tiger Presentation" on the afternoon of Sunday, 14th February from 2 - 2.45 in the Lecture Theatre in the main entrance. This will be led by Lou Bell, the Zoo's Research and Conservation Officer on the subjects of moving an Amur tiger (can be tricky!), how do you monitor if he's stressed and the worthwhile work of 21st Century Tiger. There are light refreshments and there is no charge.
